The World Acording to Arthur Farrier

Ten Lessons for Life

  1. Always be prepared to walk with Kings and talk with paupers.
Often it is hard to tell the difference

  1. To measure joy you must experience pain.
Think about this next time you hit yourself with a hammer

  1. Bread will always fall butter side down, only if it’s buttered.
          Be thankful you have butter

  1. Good friends are hard to find, even when you have money.
True friends will offer theirs when you have none

  1. A cluttered mind is like an untidy room.
Both should be cleaned more than once a week.

  1. There will be times when someone is wrong and you will want to correct them.
Wait, they will find the right answer without ridicule.

  1. No one is truly lost if they have understanding.
Learn to carry and read a map.

  1. Everyone has problems you don’t want to know about.
Why should they listen to yours?

  1. There is a big difference between ignorance and arrogance.
Education will fix ignorance; arrogance, now that’s different.

  1. Remember the golden rule, He who holds the gold makes the rules.
But what will happen when the gold is gone

Toby Farrier : Synopsis, or as I say, what the book's about

Discovery of a dead detective’s journal starts Toby on his quest of teenage discovery. Set in modern Melbourne, he must confront death and betrayal, along the way Toby finds first love, hope, trust, reconciliation and reward.
####

Estranged from his family Toby is an aspiring mystery writer, who lives with his grandfather. Arthur has taught him to control the anger that shattered his family. Toby yearns to regain his father’s trust one day.

A desk, lost since 1929, begins Toby’s adventure. A private detective died while working on the disappearance of a criminal banker and his fortune, the desk was his. Toby’s imagination takes over and he sets out to discover its secrets.

A demented history professor has searched for the desk too. It holds the key to him recovering his family’s position in society. A question from a colleague leads him to Toby and Prof Ryan will do anything to recover it.

Toby’s father is hospitalised after a truck accident and Arthur, hopeful for reconciliation with his family, offers them a place to stay. Turmoil invades the Farrier home and relationships are tested. After an attack in the park Toby and Sophia become more than friends. However, due to family demands on Toby’s time, she feels abandoned and it tests their love.

A chance meeting with palliative patient, Lizard, gives Toby the final clue to his riddle. Deep under the city he discovers a secret entrance to the lost strong room. Ryan consumed by revenge and desire to find his family’s treasure, follows them.

Toby Farrier is an action packed adventure filled with acts of renewal, trust, yearning, lost relationships, first love, mateship, stoicism, faith, truth and humility. Hard to put down, this teenage story appeals to a similar readership as JK Rowling’s Harry Potter novels.

Toby Farrier is a heart warming yarn for everyone.

Welcome to my Blog

G'day,

This is a first for me my very own blog. Now of course you know I'm not real, just a figment of old Terry's imagination, but that doesn't mean I can't share an opinion now and then. After all I'll be posting stuff I've learnt about writing here. I 'll let you know about Pop and Charlie. Some of my friends will even get a mention and then I'll let you see a story or two. I've started writing poetry to my girlfriend so some of that might appear too.

Hey if you like what you see drop me a comment now and then. If you don't, let me know that too.

Any way thanks for dropping in,

Tobes

Toby Farrier, the Pitch

Terry has been working on a pitch for my story, I dont know why he doesn't get on and send it to a publisher. All my friends say it's a bloody good read. C'mon Boss, get it out there. Send it to a publisher today.

Set in 2014, Toby Farrier’s story, begins with an antique desk. Locked and lost since 1929, it resurfaces as a reward, for promising writer, Toby.

At first the desk refuses to give up its secrets, but Toby perseveres. A journal, a box of letters and notes written in code, puts Toby and his friends in danger Mad Professor, Phillip Ryan, is sure this is his great grandfather’s desk and it holds a clue to his family’s missing fortune. Ryan has hunted for this desk for decades.

Adventure packed, Toby Farrier, is laced with acts of renewal, trust, yearning, lost relationships. Toby learns about first love and the value you find in mateship. From a dying man he learns to understand, stoicism, faith, truth and humility.
