Toby Farrier : Synopsis, or as I say, what the book's about

Estranged from his family Toby is an aspiring mystery writer, who lives with his grandfather. Arthur has taught him to control the anger that shattered his family. Toby yearns to regain his father’s trust one day.

A desk, lost since 1929, begins Toby’s adventure. A private detective died while working on the disappearance of a criminal banker and his fortune, the desk was his. Toby’s imagination takes over and he sets out to discover its secrets.

A demented history professor has searched for the desk too. It holds the key to him recovering his family’s position in society. A question from a colleague leads him to Toby and Prof Ryan will do anything to recover it.

Toby’s father is hospitalised after a truck accident and Arthur, hopeful for reconciliation with his family, offers them a place to stay. Turmoil invades the Farrier home and relationships are tested. After an attack in the park Toby and Sophia become more than friends. However, due to family demands on Toby’s time, she feels abandoned and it tests their love.

A chance meeting with palliative patient, Lizard, gives Toby the final clue to his riddle. Deep under the city he discovers a secret entrance to the lost strong room. Ryan consumed by revenge and desire to find his family’s treasure, follows them.

Toby Farrier is an action packed adventure filled with acts of renewal, trust, yearning, lost relationships, first love, mateship, stoicism, faith, truth and humility. Hard to put down, this teenage story appeals to a similar readership as JK Rowling’s Harry Potter novels.

Toby Farrier is a heart warming yarn for everyone.
